Author Description Louise Otto-Peters, also known as Louise Otto, was a German writer, feminist, poet, journalist, and women's rights movement activist. In 1848 she founded the feminist newspaper Frauen-Zeitung (Women's News), which ran until it was suppressed in 1852. The masthead bore the tagline <i>Dem Reich der Freiheit werb ich Bürgerinnen!</i>, which translates as "I am recruiting female citizens for the realm of freedom!"
